Welcome to Probable Cause, the Legal Blog with the Really Low Standard of Review by me, Rick Horowitz.

I’m a Fresno-based criminal defense attorney, civil rights reader, and newly-minted newsletter writer.

I had been using Mailchimp for my newsletter, but I think Substack might make the newsletters a bit more permanent. (Still not sure on that, but we will all see.)

For years, I’ve written my blog on my law office website. I get some visitors, but not enough to make the writing worth it. Then I tried my newsletter. A few people signed up. And, then, I noticed that a couple of my friends who were also law bloggers had started using Substack.

So, as I said, I’m going to give it a try. We’ll see what happens.
